  • FY 2017 Congressional Action (last updated 05/15/2017), in PDF [264KB] and MS Excel [421KB] On May 5, 2017, the President signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017, (P.L. 115-31) making appropriations for most Federal Agencies through September 30, 2017. On December 10, 2016, the President signed the Further Continuing and Security Assistance Appropriations Act, 2017 (P.L. 114-254), providing funding for the Department of Education and other Federal Departments through April 28, 2017. Under the terms of (P.L. 114-254) a 0.1901 percent across-the-board reduction is applied to discretionary budget authority. The resulting amounts are reflected in the 2017 Annualized CR level. .

On March 26, 2013, the President signed P.L. 113-6, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013, providing funding for the remainder of fiscal year 2013. On April 25, 2013, the Department provided an operating plan to Congress showing the distribution of the appropriation (link above) and a narrative summary PDF. In general, programs are reduced 5.23 percent less than the 2012 level. The 5.23 percent reduction is the effect of the sequester and an across-the-board cut in the final appropriation.
