Important Reminders for Completing the Veterans Upward Bound Program 2015–16 Annual Performance Report

  • Read carefully the letter to grantees from Gaby Watts, Director of the TRIO Upward Bound and Educational Opportunity Centers Division of Student Service.
  • Do not rely solely on our contractor’s Web application for information about the APR; be sure to read thoroughly the U.S. Department of Education’s documents on the VUB APR Report page.
  • Do not change data entered in a previous year that the APR indicates must not be changed (for example, date of last project service in field #30; VUB educational program completion year in field #31).
  • The tables on the last three pages of the General Instructions indicate in bold letters which participants’ enrollment in postsecondary education must be reported in the 2015–16 APR if the participants are to be counted as members of the 2015 or 2016 postsecondary enrollment cohorts. Not only the cohort year (field #38), but also the date of enrollment (field #37), correct to the month and year, must be supplied.
  • Participants’ personally identifiable information, such as birthdates and Social Security numbers, must be provided only in the data file that you will be uploading securely.
