The U.S. and Danish Education Ministers signed a cooperation agreement on November 16, 2000. Although the government in both countries has changed since then, the Agreement has been endorsed by the new U.S. Secretary of Education, Ms. Margaret Spellings, and the new Danish Minister of Education, Mr. Bertel Haarder.

To help reach the goals of the agreement, the Education ministers formed a steering committee, with representatives from government, business, research groups, community and technical colleges, and trade unions.

The committee is focused on setting the initial agenda for cooperation between the US and Danish business and technical education systems, and reaching out to the broader community for their ideas and input. We hope to encourage a more global perspective in career and technical education, and spur innovative changes.
