John Bailey has served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel since March 2022. He previously worked in the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis, an international law firm, where his practice focused on litigation, antitrust, intellectual property, and prisoner civil rights. Prior to that, John was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert Lasnik on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the Honorable Anthony Scirica on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Before law school, John worked for NBC News, where he covered politics, the Supreme Court, and other national news.

He is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and Duke University.
