  • The Department published a Notice Inviting Applications (NIA) for a competition for new awards on May 8, 2013. The deadline for applications is July 8, 2013.

SLP Competition Forms


  • Please note that the SLP Application Instructions are for applicants to download and use as guidance only. Unless the applicant qualifies for an exception to the electronic submission requirement, all SLP grant applications must be submitted electronically via See the NIA for information about how to submit an application for the SLP competition.

Pre-Application Resources

Notice of Intent to Apply
  • Each potential applicant is strongly encouraged to submit a brief email to the SLP Grant Program staff indicating their intent to submit an application. The email need not include information regarding the content of the proposed application, only the applicant’s intent to submit it. The email notification should be sent to the SLP program at no later than June 7, 2013. Applicants that fail to provide this email notification may still apply for funding.
