Public Hearing Information

All Public Hearings will be held virtually.

We will hold virtual public hearings for interested parties to comment on the rulemaking agenda on the following dates:

To Observe the Public Hearings Only

Registration is required for each day of public hearings through Eventbrite.  Upon successful registration you will receive an e-mail from Eventbrite with the unique link to the day’s meeting.  Each day attendees must click the designated link that is labeled with the corresponding date to observe the hearing.  Non-speaking attendees will join the public hearings through Microsoft Teams Live and will be muted with no option to unmute for the duration of each public hearing.

To Present for 5 minutes at one of the Public Hearings

For those who request a time to present, the Department will individually notify speakers of the time slot reserved for them and provide information on how to log in to the hearing as a speaker. Individuals who would like to present comments at the public hearings must register by sending an email message to negreghearing@ed.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern time on the business day prior to the public hearing at which they want to speak. Speaking times will be on a first come-first served basis and while we will make every effort to accommodate your preferred speaking time, please anticipate that you may have to be flexible in the time and date you will ultimately be speaking.
