Hunter, Contract Officer, 202-708-9256 The U.S. Department of Education, Deafness and Communication Disorders Branch (DCDB), Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services (OSERS), requires the services of a contractor for a 12 month with four (4) 12 month option periods to provide interpreter services for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. The offerors is to provide sign language/oral/tactile interpreting services to facilitate communication between deaf, hard of hearing and hearing individuals. The contractor shall provide sign language/oral/tactile interpreter services for the Department of Education??s Central and Regional Offices in a variety of settings nationwide. The contractor must be able to provide interpreters for assignments with three business day??s notification for services in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, with four day??s notification for the Department??s Regional Offices, and with same day notice for remote interpreting services. Interpreters must he able to understand the continuum of sign communication from American Sign Language to Signed English and must be able to interpret/transliterate fluently from spoken English into sign and from sign into spoken English.
