UPDATE - DECEMBER 19, 2000

Amendment 1 (24K ZIP File) to RFP ED-01-R-0002 has been issued. The purpose of the amendment is to: 1)extend the closing date; 2) provide a revised estimated level of effort chart; 3) revise the evaluation criteria relating to small business particiption; 4) respond to offerors' questions about the RFP; and, 5) distribute the past performance form. The zip file being made available here contains both Amendment 1 (PDF Format) and the Past Performance Form (MS Word Format). Zip utility software is required to extract the 2 files from this zip file before viewing in word processor or other applications. The Adobe Acrobat Reader™, which is available free, is required to view and print PDF files.

The closing date is extended from December 22, 2000 to January 4, 2001. The closing time remains the same.

The Office of Educational Research and Improvement, National Library of Education has a requirement to coordinate system wide activities to improve public awareness and use of ERIC and to provide reference and referral services to users. ACCESS ERIC coordinates the ERIC Outreach, the development and dissemination of system-wide materials, marketing activities; publicizes significant new materials available through ERIC; develops new reference and referral systems to assist clients in obtaining up-to-date information; and, operates the ERIC internet web site which provides a common point of entry for individual web sites that exist for each ERIC component. The contract requires a knowledge of the ERIC system; expertise in outreach and dissemination; and the organizational capabilities and resources necessary to operate a highly intricate contract. The contract also requires technical knowledge and expertise in database management and Internet technologies to help the ERIC system continue its move from a paper-based system to an online web-based system.

Issue date is November 22, 2000 and closing date is December 22, 2000 (2:00PM EST). All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered.
