Asia Pacific

ASIAN Universities Network is an international cooperative consortium affiliated with the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The site, maintained at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, provides links to member universities and information research, development, and management projects.

Asia-Pacific Centre for Educational Development and Innovation (ACEID) is a foundation sponsored by UNESCO and regional governments to promote the improvement of education at all levels. The site provides information and links to projects at the secondary, postsecondary, and adult education levels as well as special initiatives for women in education.

ACEID: Promotion of Academic Mobility and HEARMAP provides information, news, and links concerning the regional effort to coordinate mutual degree recognition, credit transfer, and student and faculty mobility.

Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) is a cooperative association organized to promote the strengthening of regional institutions and the populations they serve. Includes a useful directory of regional scholarship opportunities for students from Southeast Asian countries.

Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) is a regional association of higher education institutions located in South Asia, Southeast Asian, East Asian, and Australasian countries. The site, maintained by Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand, provides information, news of conferences, and a directory of member institutions (no links).

Southeast Asian Regional Center for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO-RIHED) is an international development partnership organization created by UNESCO, IAU, and the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation. The site features news and information about cooperative higher education projects, and under "Higher Education System" provides detailed descriptions of each country?s postsecondary education system.

Southeast Asia Ministers of Higher Education Organisation (SEAMEO) is a regional intergovernmental organization providing extensive information on all levels of education in the Southeast Asian countries, activities related to specific subject areas and topics, and links to organizations and national ministries.

UNESCO-PROAP is the UNESCO Principal Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. The web site contains extensive information on educational programs and projects at all levels throughout the region, as well as documents, data, and links to related web sites.

University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) is an intergovernmental organization promoting student mobility, credit transfer, and degree recognition among the Asian and Pacific countries and their academic institutions. Includes online policy documents on credit transfer, news, and contact information.
