Non-Federal Audit Team

Purpose and Mission

The purpose of the OIG Non-Federal Audit Team is to carry out the responsibilities specified in:

  • IG Act
  • Single Audit Act
  • Higher Education Reauthorization Act and implementing regulations
  • Uniform Guidance
  • Cognizant Agency Responsibilities Guidelines

These responsibilities require the OIG to assure the quality and usefulness of the nonfederal audit process.

Vision Statement

To be a self-directed improvement team that provides timely and valued guidance and assistance to auditors in the conduct of Non-Federal audits. To ensure that nonfederal audits meet requirements and are reliable and effective tools to improve the integrity and effectiveness of ED programs.
