Justin Riemer
Deputy General Counsel

Justin Riemer is the Deputy General Counsel for Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Justin brings to the department an extensive background in public administration and regulatory law, particularly in the area of political law.

Prior to entering his current position at the Department of Education, Justin served as Deputy Secretary of the Virginia State Board of Elections and Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.

Justin has written and presented on a number of legal and public policy issues, including having testified before Congress on the work of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration.

Justin graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in History and Religion and obtained his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
