Jessa Mirtle has served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel since July 2021. She previously worked as the general counsel for a State Educational Agency (SEA) leading a team responsible for legal advice on a wide range of issues pertaining to PreK-12 education including advising state leadership on the education-related response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior, she worked in higher education at a large state university as an employment attorney and senior labor relations associate, and as an in-house attorney for a municipality.

Her education comes from Trinity College and UConn Law School, both in Hartford, Connecticut. She also holds a certificate in Labor Relations/Contract Administration from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
