National Professional Development (NPD) program

The NPD Program provides grants for eligible entities to implement professional development activities intended to improve instruction for English Learners (ELs) and assists education personnel working with ELs to meet high professional standards.

Native American and Alaska Native Children in School (NAM) program

The purpose of the Native American and Alaska Native children in School (NAM) program is to award grants to eligible entities to develop and enhance capacity to provide effective instruction and support to Native American students who are identified as English learners (ELs). The goal of this program is to support the teaching, learning and studying of Native American languages while also increasing the English language proficiency of students served to achieve the same challenging State academic content and achievement standards for all students.

Asian American Pacific Islander Data Disaggregation Initiative (D2) program

The D2 program provides grants to State educational agencies (SEAs) in consortia with local educational agencies (LEAs)to obtain and evaluate disaggregated data on English Learner (EL) AAPI subpopulations beyond the existing seven racial and ethnic categories within the school community. The disaggregated data will be used to identify targeted strategies for closing educational opportunity gaps.
