OCR WEBINAR ON HOW TO REPORT SEXUAL HARASSMENT UNDER TITLE IX

July 27, 2020
Protecting Students: Sex Discrimination

OCR’s Center for Outreach, Prevention, Education, and Non-discrimination (OPEN Center) is pleased to release its latest webinar, which provides an overview of how to report sexual harassment under the Department’s new Title IX Rule, effective August 14, 2020.  This webinar is intended to be a resource for students and parents on the process for putting a school on notice of sexual harassment, and for filing a formal complaint that requires a school to initiate the Title IX grievance process.  Additionally, it covers the differences between reporting at the K-12 level and at a postsecondary institution, such as a college or university.  The webinar also explains a school’s responsibilities once it learns that someone is alleged to be a victim of sexual harassment.
