Office of Educational Research and Improvement

Overview

The Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI) gathers, analyzes, and makes available to the public, statistical and other types of information about the condition of American education and the progress of educational reform efforts, particularly Goals 2000. This Office also disseminates information and research findings about successful education practices, supports a wide range of research and development activities, supports nationally significant model projects, and provides technical assistance to those working to improve education.

This office is located at Capitol Place in Washington, D.C.

OERI Evaluation: Program Accessibility

There are no current circumstances in which the participation of a person with disabilities would be restricted, excluded from or required to participate separately in programs of the Office. Office staff are aware that it may be necessary to modify office policies or practices to enable persons with disabilities to participate in and benefit from office programs.

OERI plans to include language in all grant competitions it administers which requires grantees to provide services for all students with the intent to include students with disabilities. OERI also plans to evaluate applications as to how the applicant intents to implement this requirement.

TTYs currently exist in the divisions of Media and Information Services, Outreach, and the National Library of Education.
