A two-year secondary student program providing an alternative classroom experience to traditional Algebra I by offering to the student who learns best in a contextual manner real-life and workplace applications through hands-on activities.

Capacitor-Aided System for Teaching and Learning Electricity (CASTLE)

- An innovative instructional module for use in high schools that can replace the electricity portion of any course for beginning physics students. Its instruction approach is an investigative, model-building mode of learning.

Davis County Indian Homework Centers Program (IHC) (See Section 10 Multidisciplinary/Cognitive Skills)
- A tutoring program to increase the achievement scores of Indian students in the Davis County (Utah) School District.

Early Intervention for School Success (EISS) (See Section 11 Early Childhood/Parent Involvement)
- A program to provide teachers, support staff, and parents with basic knowledge of child growth and development and basic strategies for application in the kindergarten classroom.

- A program of classroom and home instruction for teaching parents, teachers, and other care providers to develop oral language, thinking abilities, and motor skills in young children.

- A family literacy program that works with all family members to increase the educational level of disadvantaged parents and children.
