The project proposed by Mansfield City School District proposes to partner with Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, on a professional development program for junior high and high school American history teachers. The project proposes to help history teachers gain a deeper understanding of American history and improve student achievement by assisting teachers in enhancing teaching strategies. Approximately 35 teachers are expected to attend these sessions. Three aspects of the project include: three one-week summer institutes a year, four one-day seminars each year, and a web site to accompany the institutes and seminars.
