The public school district is working in partnership with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center for Curriculum and Instruction, and School at the Center, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Teachers College statewide rural organization. Secondary schools in 31 of Nebraska's 93 counties will take part in this grant. Approximately 40 American History teachers at the middle or high school level will participate in the project activities. Major activities include three annual events for the three-year grant period: a spring workshop, a summer institute, and a fall workshop to improve teaching effectiveness.
