Steven Berbeco is a Visiting Scholar at Boston University School of Education where he is researching case method in K-12 Arabic teacher training and is a Special Consultant for Teacher Leadership in Boston Public Schools. Currently he is helping to develop basic literacy materials in Liberia.
Stephanie Canada is completing her Dissertation and teaching future educators at East Central University in Oklahoma.
Jennifer Cloud teaches math in South Kingston school district in Rhode Island. She was active in creating competencies as part of that State’s teacher evaluation system under Race to the Top.
Jonathan Eckert teaches future teachers at Wheaton College in Illinois and writes extensively on teacher effectiveness and compensation issues.
Jeanine Gelhaus teaches middle level Life and Earth Science for Medford Public Schools in central Wisconsin and education and assessment to Masters level students. She is active in a range of initiatives, including with NASA, focused on professional development, STEM and international cooperation.
Amy Goodman recently retired after nearly 30 years with the Anchorage school district where she served as a support teacher, curriculum specialist and intern facilitator for the district. She is living in Boulder, CO and is carving out her next steps in education.
Steven Hicks serves as Special Assistant on Early Learning at the U.S. Department of Education.Keil Hileman teaches Archeology and Artifacts and Museum Connections to 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Monticello Trails Middle School in Shawnee, Kansas. His work was featured for a “Window on Great Teaching” at NBC’s 2011 Education Nation Summit.
JoLisa Hoover teaches fourth grade at River Ridge Elementary in the Leander School District in Texas. She has actively worked to bring federal resources and information to and stories from 100s of teachers in her area.
Bobbi Ciriza Houtchens retired after nearly 40 years of teaching English and English language development. She has moved to Los Angeles and now actively consults and provides professional development for teachers who work with English learners and urban students across the country.
Hector Ibarra retired from teaching middle school science in West Branch, Iowa after more than 30 years in the classroom. He serves on the National Assessment Governing Board for the U.S. Department of Education and continues to teach talented and gifted middle school students through the University of Iowa’s Belin Blank Center.
Cheri Isgreen recently retired from teaching art in Montrose, CO. She is a Regional Coordinator for Western State College of Colorado liaising between teacher interns, their school teams and the college.
Jensi Kellogg-Andrus continues to teach Biology online and in person in Watertown South Dakota. She has been active in creating the Learning Powers Program, South Dakota's online Advanced Placement program for rural students that do not have access to AP courses.
Eric Kinne teaches Fairfax High School in Virginia. He recently wrote and got his perfect job description allowing him to have a hybrid position teaching English and growing the school’s AVID program.
James Liou is a peer assistant teacher in Boston Public Schools. He works closely with Steven Berbeco and hosts a blog called The Teaching Pulse to highlight teacher voices in the district.
Maya Martin Bugg works for Citizen Schools North Carolina working closely with Neal Middle school in Durham, NC on extending learning time. She plans to pursue a Doctorate to further her understanding nonprofit organization and their intersection with teacher preparation.
Nicora Placa is currently completing a Doctorate in Teaching and Learning at New York University focusing on mathematics education.
Tammie Schrader teaches math and science to middle school students in Cheney, Washington. She serves on the Science Assessment Leadership Team for the State and is a Regional Leader with NOAA working on Climate Change among other activities.
Luther Sewell serves as the Reading Specialist for Maya Angelou Charter School’s Evans Middle School in Washington DC and was just announced as one of 25 Fellows in Teach Plus D.C.’s inaugural class.
Scott Sherman teaches world geography at Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas where he was named Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
Julie Shively is the Principal of Wheeling Central Catholic School in West Virginia.
Anne Claire Tejtel was selected by Baltimore Public Schools to serve as one of eight educators designing the implementation of the district’s and union’s landmark contract.

Anna Walker spent a year teaching kindergarten in Washington States and is now back at Songo Locks Elementary in Naples Maine as a Literacy Coach. She has been active in implementing Positive Behavior Intervention strategies in her district as well as Response to Intervention.
