STEP Grant Competition for fiscal year (FY) 2015.
For FY 2015 there is a new STEP competition in which the Office of Indian Education will be soliciting applications. The notice inviting applications was published on April 16, 2015 in the Federal Register. In additon to the dates below interested parties should review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) at this link: http://www2.ed.gov/programs/step/faq.html.

The notice inviting application for the State Tribal Education Partnership Competition was published on April 16, 2015, may be found here: Federal Register Notice
Applicants will need to set up a Grants.Gov account in order to access the 2015 STEP grant application. To submit the application online or work on the application online, applicants must register in http://www.grants.gov/ and provide certain information before they can apply online or submit their applications online.

All applications must be submitted by the closing date of June 15, 2015 and meet the submission requirements identified in the Notice Inviting Applications in order to be considered for FY 2015 funding.
Projects selected for funding should plan start dates of October 1, 2015.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY
Instructions for Submitting Intent to Apply:
A. Prospective applicants are encouraged to notify the Department of their intent to apply for a grant under the STEP program. Prospective applicants should submit the following information to the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) STEP Program official with "Notice of Intent to Apply" in the subject line to: Shahla.Ortega@Ed.Gov by May 21, 2015 and include the following:
B. Applicant's name, address and contact person's email
C. Contact person's name and email address
D. The name of the State educational agency
E. Whether the applicant will be a single TEA or a consortium of TEAs

WEBINAR SERIES - FY 2015 STATE TRIBAL EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM AND NATIVE YOUTH COMMUNITY PROJECTS PROGRAM WILL BE HOSTING WEBINAR SESSIONS
The Office of Indian Education has been hosting a series of online webinar sessions for both of the programs currently with competitions. To date, the following webinars have been conducted:

The webinar will provide important information about Tribal Education Agencies - their functions, purposes, and their interaction with STEP funding. The webinar will also focus on providing information to potential STEP applicants on developing preliminary agreements and strategies to build collaboration and enhance communication. It is designed to assist potential applicants to prepare their preliminary agreements for the 2015 STEP competition. This webinar will be recorded and archived for a limited time. Presentation for the webinar and questions and answers generated from the webinar will be available to the public.
