Timelines for FY2011 Competition
- Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: September 13, 2011
Please note that U.S. Department of Education grant application deadline is 4:30 PM Washington, DC time. Late applications will not be accepted. The Department is required to enforce the established deadline to ensure fairness to all applicants. No changes or additions to an application will be accepted after the deadline date and time.
- Deadline for Intergovernmental Review: November 10, 2011
- Deadline for Notice of Intent to Apply: July 22, 2011
2011 Notice of Intent to Apply
Thanks to everyone that submitted the intent to apply form. The intent to apply notification was not mandatory, and potential applicants that were not able to submit their intent to apply forms may still submit an application. Potential applicants that did complete an intent to apply form are not required to adhere to the information that was submitted.

Please note that the Promise Neighborhoods application packages are for applicants to download and use as guides only. Unless the applicant qualifies for an exception to the electronic submission requirement, all Promise Neighborhoods grant applications must be submitted electronically via Grants.gov. The Department expects applications will be available on Grants.gov by July 7, 2011.
