Timelines from the FY 2010 Planning Grant Competition
  • Extended Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: Closed June 28, 2010

    The application deadline for the Promise Neighborhoods Program is 4:30:00 PM, June 28, 2010 (D.C. Time). We strongly recommend that you do not wait until the last day to submit your application. The time it takes to upload the narratives for your application will vary depending on a number of factors, including the size of the files and the speed of your Internet connection. If you try to submit your application after 4:30:00 PM on the deadline date, the e-Application system will not accept it.

  • Extended Deadline for Intergovernmental Review: August 27, 2010

  • Deadline for Announcement of Awards: September 30, 2010

  • Deadline for Peer Reviewer Application: Closed June 15, 2010

  • Deadline for Notice of Intent to Apply: Closed May 21, 2010

Promise Neighborhoods Program Forms from the FY 2010 Planning Grant Competition

    The Secretary strongly encourages each potential applicant to the Promise Neighborhoods planning grant competition to notify the Department by submitting this form indicating the applicant’s intent to submit an application for funding. Applicants that fail to provide this e-mail notification may still apply for funding. Please save this exact form in MS Word only and email as an attachment to pnintent@ed.gov by May 21, 2010 with "Intent to Apply" in the subject heading.

  • Applicant Eligibility Checklist-[MS Word 40KB]
    This is a required eligibility checklist that must be submitted by all eligible applicants. Applicants should check the appropriate boxes, save this document in MS Word only, and upload it as Appendix A in E-Application.

  • Application Checklist-[MS Word 29KB]
    This optional checklist may be used by applicants to ensure they have assembled all required items before submission of their application.

Please note: The Department has extended the Promise Neighborhoods application deadline until June 28, 2010 for eligible applicants and made the 40-page limit for the project narrative strongly encouraged, but not required.
