Even Start Family Literacy Project is designed to help break the cycle of poverty and improve the literacy of participating families by integrating early childhood education, adult literacy or adult basic education, and parenting education into a unified family literacy program that fosters employment.
This project is subject to the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA). The GPRA requires each project to set targets for its performance; measure progress toward those targets; report on whether or not the targets have been met; and describe future strategies for continued striving toward those targets. This process is designed to improve program management, and to help Congress, the Department of Education, the Office of Management and Budget, and others review a program's progress toward its goals. The following data reflects the National and individual state achievement.
