Breaking News: The U.S. Department of Education announced $836,000 in grants to be awarded to three State Education Agencies (SEAs) under its Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Data Disaggregation Initiative (D2). The three SEA grant recipients are the Minnesota Department of Education, Washington’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the Hawaii Department of Education. In May, U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King, Jr. announced D2, which will award up to $1 million per year for five years pending annual budget appropriations to SEAs to improve data collection and to identify effective practices to close achievement and opportunity gaps through data analysis.
