Tech-Prep Demonstration Program; Notice of final requirements and selection criteria [OVAE] (Apr 14, 2005)
The Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education announces requirements and selection criteria under the Tech-Prep Demonstration Program (TPDP). We take this action to clarify the Department's expectations regarding this program, so that TPDP-funded projects will help students, schools, and teachers in their efforts to improve student achievement, meet high standards for high school graduation, and increase enrollment and persistence rates in postsecondary education.

Special Demonstration Programs--Model Demonstrations To Improve the Literacy and Employment Outcomes of Individuals With Disabilities; Notice of proposed priorities (OSERS) (Jul 25, 2003)
We take this action to focus attention on the adult literacy needs of individuals with disabilities pursuing employment under the State Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program. We intend that projects funded under these priorities will demonstrate that certain specific literacy services may raise the literacy levels and earnings of individuals with disabilities compared to individuals who receive the usual vocational rehabilitation (VR) services.

The Assistant Secretary will use these (TPDP) requirements, priorities, and selection criteria for new awards made in FY 2003, and may use them in later years. We intend these requirements, priorities, and selection criteria to support the four basic education reform principles underlying the (NCLB): Stronger accountability for results, increased flexibility and local control, expanded options for parents, and an emphasis on teaching methods that have been proven to work.
