Webinars & Presentations
This section of the Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Privacy Toolkit includes training materials developed for use by education stakeholders, such as staff from the state educational agencies, local education agencies, and the postsecondary community who are involved in building and using education data systems. These webinars and presentations provide a user-friendly accessible way to familiarize education stakeholders with the wide variety of materials available in the PTAC Toolkit, including Technical and Issue Briefs.
Materials in this section summarize and highlight key issues described in more detail in other PTAC documents, often supplementing them with additional real‐world examples. The aim of the presentations is to help educate stakeholders with different levels of experience in the area of data governance and security about the best practices in developing effective and secure longitudinal data systems, to help prevent unauthorized access and ensure proper governance protocols.
The following presentations highlight various topics of interest to the education stakeholders, ranging from a general overview of the Privacy Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Education to the more specialized topics on cybersecurity. Presentations are grouped together by Conference at which they were presented.
