Where To Address Questions About the Protection of Human Subjects in Research

The Protection of Human Subjects in Research Coordinator is available to answer your questions about the Department of Education's regulations for the protection of human subjects in research activities supported by the Department through grants or contracts. When calling or writing, please specify the nature of the inquiry (e.g., general guidance on policy, assurances of compliance, Institutional Review Board certifications, allegations of noncompliance) and the nature of the research activity (e.g., a conventional single project at a single site, collaborative multi-site research, or otherwise). If you are inquiring about a specific research activity, please identify the awardee of the grant or contract to which your inquiry pertains.


Where To Address Reports of Unanticipated Risks in Research or of Serious or Continuing Noncompliance.

If you wish to report unanticipated risks in research or serious or continuing noncompliance with the requirements of the Common Rule for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research (34 CFR 97) in studies funded or sponsored by the Department, you should contact the Protection of Human Subjects in Research Coordinator, sending pertinent information through the mail or email, concerning any allegations to address below.
