IDEAs That Work

This IDEAs That Work Web site is designed to provide easy access to information funded by OSEP that address the provisions of IDEA and ESSA. OSEP provides discretionary grants to state educational agencies, institutions of higher education, and other nonprofit organizations to support technical assistance and dissemination, technology and media services, state personnel development grants, personnel preparation, state data collections, and parent-training and information centers. A complete and searchable description of currently-funded discretionary programs and projects authorized by IDEA can be found at OSEP IDEAs That Work.

Parent Training and Information Centers

The Parent Training and Information Centers (PTI) found in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Pacific entities, are a rich source of information and training tailored for parents, including parents whose primary language is not English or themselves have special training needs. In addition, Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRC) throughout the country serve targeted, underserved communities. To find the PTI or CPRC that serves your community, go to the Center on Parent Information and Resources.

IDEA Website

Families can also find a wealth of information about the IDEA at idea.ed.gov. The IDEA Web site contains the full text of IDEA and the regulations, as well as guidance documents and other resources.
