The National Institute on Student Achievement, Curriculum, and Assessment is one of five Institutes created by the Educational Research, Development, Dissemination, and Improvement Act of 1994. Located within the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI) at the U.S. Department of Education, the Institute's purpose is to carry out a coordinated and comprehensive program of research and development. We provide research-based leadership to the U.S. as states and localities strive to improve student achievement in core content areas and work to integrate these areas to enhance student learning.
