The National Institute on Postsecondary Education, Libraries, and Lifelong Learning supports research through an integrated set of programs. In addition to its National Educational Research and Development Centers, its Field Initiated Studies program, the Small Business Innovation Research program, and the Interagency Research Initiative, the Institute also conducts a Directed Research program to fill critical gaps in the research agenda.
