The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement, National Center for Education Statistics(NCES) proposes to solicit a 42 month contract to provide a large complex data collection. This data collection, BPS:96/2001, is designed to be the third in the series of longitudinal data collection efforts involving first-time entrants to postsecondary education in the 1995-96 academic year. This effort started in 1996 as part of the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study(NPSAS:96) and continued through 1998. BPS:96/2001 will collect data elements concerning postsecondary education activities, work force activities and other experiences of those who have completed a postsecondary education program. The method of data collection will be telephone and personal interviews. This study will culminate in a descriptive report and documented data files.
