The United States Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), has a requirement to perform four types of activities to support its forecasting program. These activities are as follows: (1) expanding the capabilities of the NCES Education Modeling System through research and model development by reviewing the literature and developing new models to project national and state-level statistics in areas of enrollment, teachers, graduates and earned degrees, and expenditures; (2) enhancing the NCES Modeling System with additional programming capabilities to extract detailed projections from the model outputs to handle special requests; (3) procuring a subscription service for national and state historical and projected economic data; and (4) maintaining new enhancements to the forecasting system as required by other upgrades. Requests for copies of the RFP may be made by telephone, mail,telegram, Internet, or in person. All requests shall reference the RFP number (ED-98-R-0031) and title. Internet requests may be sent to Yolanda_Abney@ed.gov. Copies of the RFP may be picked up in person on the issuing date at the above address, Room 3616. Issue date is July 27, 1998 and Closing date is August 28, 1998. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. The dates listed herein are subject to change.
