UPDATE MARCH 6, 2000

Amendment 1 (ASCII File - 19K) to RFP ED-00-R-0020, which deletes one clause from the solicitation and provides the Department's answers to questions received from potential offerors, has been issued and is hereby made available for viewing and/or downloading. The proposal due date remains March 21, 2000.

The United States Department of Education has a requirement to support two large, complex data collections. The initial period and three additional option periods consist of two collections, fall and spring. There is also the possibility of one additional data collection during each option years. These data collections, part of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, are designed to continue the series of cross-sectional data collections mandated by the Higher Education Act (as amended in 1998). The method for each data collection will be web-based surveys. Each collection will culminate in a short descriptive report and documented data files. The work will be monitored by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) within the U.S. Department of Education (ED).

Requests for copies of the RFP may be made by telephone, mail, telegram, Internet, or in person. All requests shall reference the RFP number (ED-00-R-0020) and title. Telephone requests may be placed by calling 202-708-6498. Mail or telegram requests shall be sent to the following address, U.S. Department of Education/CPO, ATTN: Yolanda Abney, Room 3616, 7th & D Streets, SW, Washington, DC 20202-4443. E-mail requests may be sent to Yolanda_Abney@ed.gov. Copies of the RFP may be picked up in person on the issuing date at the above address, Room 3616. Issue date is February 17, 2000 and closing date is March 21, 2000 (2:00PM EST). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. The dates listed herein are subject to change.
