Amendment 0003 to RFP ED-00-R-0008, which provides the Government's answers to questions from potential offerors, was issued February 16, 2000. The text of the Amendment follows:
1.Who is the incumbent contractor and how long have they had this contract?
Edutech and the Professional and Science Association are the incumbent contractors.
2.What was the last fiscal year contract value?
The summation systems life contract value is approximately 11.5 million dollars.
3. What is the anticipated contract award date and start of performance date?
Award is anticipated in early May 2000. Performance may commence immediately thereafter.

The U.S. Department of Education, for the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), requires the services of a contractor with expertise in (a) logistical support to arrange and facilitate effective meetings and to assist in conference planning, peer review coordination and information dissemination services, and (b) technical, analytical, or scholarly work in support of educational research and demonstration programs and related dissemination activities.
Requests for copies of the RFP may be made by telephone, mail, telegram, Internet, or in person. All requests shall reference the RFP number (ED-00-R-0008) and title. Telephone requests may be placed by calling 202-708-6498. Mail or telegram requests shall be sent to the following address, U.S. Department of Education/CPO, ATTN: Yolanda Abney, Room 3616, 7th & D Streets, SW, Washington, DC 20202-4443. E-mail requests may be sent to Yolanda_Abney@ed.gov. Copies of the RFP may be picked up in person on the issuing date at the above address, Room 3616. Issue date is February 3, 2000 and closing date is March 7, 2000 (2PM EST). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. The dates listed herein are subject to change.
