| These state profiles provide critical education performance data for all 50 states and DC. Data from EDFacts (state-reported data on students, staff, services, and outcomes at the state, district, and school levels for grades K-12), the Consolidated State Performance Report, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, and other sources have been used to populate these profiles. |

| Abstract: Final Report on the Evaluation of the Growth Model Pilot Project

| The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was any effect from application of the growth models; to provide information about how to strengthen the use of growth under the ESEA; and to provide information for states that might consider applying to use a growth model under current regulations. The final report analyzes the effects of growth models in the nine states approved under the pilot, for the 2007-08 school year. |

| This study examined the characteristics of data systems and their use at the classroom level. More specifically, it looked at what types of student data systems were available to school staff, how school staff were using the systems and other forms of student data, teachers' understanding of data displays and data interpretation issues, and the supports and challenges for school-level use of student data in planning and implementing instruction. |
