"The will to prepare to win is what makes you a winner, whether it's
on the football field or in education."
~ Paul Tagliabue, Commissioner of the National Football League
"Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go
about achieving it and staying with that plan."
~ Tom Landry
"Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing."
~ Vincent Lombardi
Welcome to the official homepage of Winners Don't Quit: Stay in the
Game, a partnership between the U.S. Department of Education and
the National Football League. Through this partnership, NFL players are building
relationships with high schools and carrying an important message to young people:
It can be just as hard to fight your way through high school as it is to fight
your way down a football field, but the only way to win is to keep your eyes on
the goal line and stay in the game.
In order to reach their goal, young people need to have both a strong defense
- staying away from negative influences and unhealthy decisions, and a strong
offense - actively studying for their classes and seeking out help and
career guidance. Leaving school before graduation is like leaving the field before
the final down - and no one ever won by making that decision.
