Delegations of Authority
A delegation of authority is the specific transfer of authority from one Department official (delegator) to another Department official (delegatee). Program delegation is a delegation of authority dealing with laws that establish program responsibilities of the Department. Administrative delegation is a delegation of authority dealing with administrative management of the Department.
Administrative Communications Systems (ACS) OM:1:102, Delegations of Authority , issued on July 26, 2005, sets forth policy and procedures governing delegations and redelegations of authority.
The Delegations of Authority (DOA) Library is a listing of current delegations and redelegations for each Principal Office. Most delegations may now be accessed by clicking on the appropriate Principal Office (PO), below, and then through links provided on the PO’s delegations table. Full texts of the delegations may also be requested from the Department's Delegations Control Officer, Bruce Monblatt at Bruce.Monblatt@ed.gov.
