V. Primary Delegations of Authority
The Secretary has delegated the following authorities to the Chief Information Officer, subject to certain reservations:- Authority to perform functions vested in the Chief Information Officer by the Information Technology Act of 1996, P.L. 104-106, Division E, 40 U.S.C. 1401, et. seq.
- Authority to perform management functions to ensure compliance with the requirements of section 3544 (a)(3) of the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA)
- Authority for domestic travel in accordance with 41 CFR Chapters 300-304, commonly known as the Federal Travel Regulations.
The Secretary has also delegated to all Principal Officers certain administrative authorities subject to certain reservations.
