Margo Anderson
Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary

Margo Anderson oversees the grant-making offices and operations functions, including those of the Executive Office. She is responsible for adherence to management excellence through financial integrity and program accountability. During her 23-year career with the U.S. Department of Education, she has managed a wide variety of grants programs and has been involved with management improvement initiatives. She has worked with demonstration programs in technology and character education, among others, and on such program initiatives as standards for reviewing and selecting applicants for grant funding. Prior to coming to the Department of Education, Mrs. Anderson was a program manager for arts programs at the National Endowment for the Arts and at the American Correctional Association for five years. She has a Bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College and a Master's degree in management from George Washington University.

Nadya Chinoy Dabby
Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary

Nadya Chinoy Dabby serves as the Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary and leads the policy and program development of several of OII's key programs, including Investing in Innovation (i3) and charter schools. Prior to joining the Department, Ms. Dabby served as Director of The Broad Foundation. At The Broad Foundation, she managed a portfolio that included teacher and principal talent development; public charter schools; statewide school turnaround efforts; and various policy and advocacy initiatives. Most recently, Ms. Dabby lead The Broad Foundation's work with state education agencies to develop and implement education reforms. In addition, Ms. Dabby's previous work experience includes serving as California Governor Jerry Brown’s appointee to the State Allocation Board and working as a management consultant, primarily for nonprofit and government organizations, in the areas of health care, human services and youth development.

Ms. Dabby holds a Bachelor's degree in International Development and a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
