Peggi Zelinko serves as the Director of the Teacher Quality Program Office in the Office of Innovation and Improvement. In this role she oversees a number of discretionary and directed grant programs that include Advanced Credentialing, Congressional and Presidential Academies, National Writing Project, Teacher Quality Partnership, Teaching American History, Transition to Teaching, Troops to Teachers, and School Leadership. She has been with the U.S. Department of Education since 1995. Prior to coming to the Department of Education, Ms. Zelinko was a Project Officer for the Office of Job Corps at the U.S. Department of Education, a faculty member at Marshall University in Huntington, WV, a program manager at the West Virginia State Department of Education, an instructor at Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ, and a high school marketing education teacher in Erie, PA. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Doctor of Education degree from Temple University.
