Elizabeth A. M. McFadden
Deputy General Counsel

Elizabeth A. M. McFadden has served as the Deputy General Counsel for Ethics, Legislative Counsel, and Regulatory Services since February 2011. Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. McFadden was the Assistant General Counsel for the Regulatory Services Division in the Office of the General Counsel for eight years. Before joining the Department in 2003, Ms. McFadden practiced administrative and communications law as an associate and a partner at the law firm of Dow, Lohnes, PLLC.

Ms. McFadden was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science in 1986 from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. Ms. McFadden received her J.D. in 1991 from the University of Virginia School of Law where she was Special Projects Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law and authored a published article on immigration law issues.
