LISTS OF POSTSECONDARY INSTITUTIONS ENROLLING POPULATIONS
WITH SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGES OF UNDERGRADUATE
MINORITY STUDENTS
ASIAN AMERICAN AND NATIVE AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER-SERVING INSTITUTIONS. This is a list of the colleges and universities to which the Department’s Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) recently has given grants as Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) under Title III of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA). To be eligible for grants under Title III, each college and university attested that it met the HEA’s definition of “Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions” and self-certified that it met the conditions of eligibility.
The list does not include colleges and universities that did not apply for, or that did not receive, competitive Department grants for Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions. Thus, the list is not necessarily a complete list of colleges and universities meeting the HEA’s definition of Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions. Federal agencies and others with an interest in colleges or universities not appearing on this list should obtain or confirm information regarding their enrollment of Asian American and/or Native American Pacific Islander students, and/or their eligibility for a specific grant, contract, or benefit program, directly with those institutions.
The HEA’s definition of “Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions” can be found in Section 320 (b)(2) of the Higher Education Act of 1965, 20 U.S.C. USC 1059g.
