LISTS OF POSTSECONDARY INSTITUTIONS ENROLLING POPULATIONS
WITH SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGES OF UNDERGRADUATE
INSTITUTIONS WITH HIGH HISPANIC ENROLLMENT: This list includes the institutions of higher education whose full time equivalent (FTE) enrollment of undergraduate students is at least 25 percent Hispanic, according to Fall 2006 enrollment data that the institutions self-reported in the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) survey conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). NCES determined FTE enrollment by calculating that approximately three part-time students are equivalent to one full-time student. The FTE numbers should be considered only as an approximation since IPEDS does not collect part-time credit hour information. This list includes only non-profit public and private institutions of higher education.
Minimum enrollment numbers may be only one factor in determining the eligibility of an institution with a high Hispanic enrollment for a particular federal grant, contract, or benefit program. For example, the Title V program under the Higher Education Act includes other requirements for designating an institution as a Hispanic-serving institution. The institutions on this list may not meet these other requirements and may not be eligible to participate in the Title V program, or other grant, contract, or benefit program administered by the Department or another federal agency. Parties interested in an institution on this list should ensure that the institution meets all criteria for an applicable grant, contract, or benefit program.
