Updated Documents for Mainframe Users of the CRD Collection

We have been made aware of an error within the Mainframe Record layout for the 2004 CRD Collection. In particular, there was an error within Appendix B documentation under "Item 13. Row H Student Assignment-Elementary Schools Only." In this section, the following corrections were made in the updated Appendix B documentation:

No. 539 should read "Number of Hispanic"

No. 540 ("Number of Black, Not of Hispanic Origin") is unchanged. A new entry should be added following No. 540 for "Number of White, Not of Hispanic Origin" and it should have Start Position 2834 End Position 2838, Length 5, Data Type N, and be Right Justified. It should be No. 541.

No. 541 ("Workspace Total") should be renumbered to 542, and all subsequent item numbers will increase by 1, with the final record item ("End of Record Bookkeeping") being No. 866.

While this oversight does add a line (for "Number of White, Not of Hispanic Origin") to the layout structure, it does not impact the total file length of the Mainframe Record layout (the record allowed for the space required for this category, it was omitted inadvertently).

Appendix A and Appendix C remain unaffected by this correction.

The original mainframe documentation was provided to districts on a CD-ROM. The documents available for download below provide the necessary updates to that documentation.
