In addition to the main ED website, the Department sponsors more than 200 other websites — including information clearinghouses, regional laboratories and other assistance providers, research centers, and specialized resource centers for special education, disabilities, and other special needs.

The purpose of the Cross-Site Index is to help you find the information you want without having to know in advance where it is on one of the hundreds of ED-sponsored websites.

The Cross-Site Index works just like the Department Search, but casts a broader net. It quickly searches the complete contents of 200+ ED-sponsored websites and 150+ education-related resources at other Federal agencies — a collection of over 450,000 items in all, ranging from funding opportunities to lesson plans, from research to regulations.
