The redistribution for the (a)(1) reserve is for institutions that did not initially apply to receive allocations to transmit their applications for funds from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund under sections 18004(a)(1), 18004(a)(2), and 18004(a)(3) of the CARES Act by the deadlines described below.

The deadline for all institutions that have not already applied for and received an (a)(1) reserve allocation is now September 30, 2020 as the Department announced on September 3, 2020 a reopening of the application period for institutions intending to apply for HEERF, CARES Act funds. More information is available in our Federal Register notice here.

Allocations for all (a)(1) reserve applicants, including those institutions that have already applied for funding under this program, will be determined following the September 30, 2020 deadline.
